Design Brief

This year, the聽Ngee Ann Polytechnic Students鈥 Union聽gave us a very niche assignment to help them design their聽new-camp-initiative-concept-plan聽where all reigns of freedom was given to us to explore new design ideas that we may come up for their event.

Part of this new overhaul included the design of the聽FOC Camp Chalope Shirt 0405, which was meant to represent a bold difference from聽previously-standardised聽camp shirts at that time.

To help depict this 鈥boldness鈥 and setting this year鈥檚 design apart, we first came up with the bold shirt colours that are highly contrast between the two sets we were tasked to design. Accompanying that, we also felt that to entice individuals to be excited to keep on wearing this apparel for years to come, it should make significant attempts to 鈥hide聽the core-branding of the institution, yet include a trendy design where the wearer would not mind wearing it as part of their everyday wear.鈥

At the end of the day, after multiple sessions of iterations, we finally came up with a sort-of 鈥soccer-team-jersey鈥 lookalike. Coupled with the contrasting colours, of black and red, the outcome designs really stood out and fully fulfilled what the client was expecting of the work that they wanted us to fulfil.
